Scooby’s scoop: Week 13, 2015

The Case for Notre Dame and Oklahoma

Notre Dame simply does not have the impressive wins when comparing them to other teams that could potentially get into the playoffs. Of course, the Irish can hope for Oklahoma to lose to Oklahoma State, but Notre Dame not only needs to beat Stanford, but they need to blow them out for them to stake their claim to the playoffs. A two-point loss to Clemson or comparing Oklahoma’s loss to Texas and their win against the Longhorns just doesn’t hold up in any argument. Just turn on the television and watch how both teams are playing should be the final barometer.

The Sooners, on the other hand, are a bit of a mystery. They can beat Oklahoma State and all but secure a place in the playoff, but they better have quarterback Baker Mayfield playing. The Sooners fell apart last week against TCU when Mayfield left the game because of a head injury and nothing would suggest that Trevor Knight is capable of stepping up and winning a game.
